    Immediately following our concert, we return to the Penn Club for an elegant dinner with live blues and jazz from the American songbook, performed by Derek Wieland and lead vocalists from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Since its founding, OSL has given more performances at Carnegie Hall than any other orchestra. OSL currently resides at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music.

    Riccardo Frizza

    Riccardo Frizza is Musical Director and Artistic Director of the Bergamo Donizetti Opera Festival and Chief Conductor of the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Choir. Maestro Frizza appears courtesy of The Metropolitan Opera, where this season he will conduct Bellini’s La Sonnambula.

    Kathryn Henry

    Kathryn Henry is rapidly emerging as a compelling voice in the world of opera, praised for her “clean coloratura and silvery voice.” Accolades abound for recent performances in the Grammy-nominated world premiere recording of Corigliano’s and Adamo’s The Lord of Cries, and in the title role (substituting for Lise Davidsen) of Janáček’s Jenůfa at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

    Matthew Graybil

    Praised by The New Yorker as an “exceptional young artist” and by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune as a “major talent,” American pianist Matthew Graybil has performed as a recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician in many of the world’s music capitals throughout North America and Europe — featuring collaborations with such artists as Itzhak Perlman.

  • Anthony Ratinov

    Anthony Ratinov

    Commanding the stage with “class, style, technical mastery, and solo prowess” (Beckmesser), and hailed for his “unwavering energy and precision” (La Scena Musicale), Anthony Ratinov is an American pianist who captivates audiences worldwide. Among this season’s highlights are a performance at Berlin’s Philharmonie of Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2, and a much-coveted spot competing at the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.

  • Derek Wieland

    Derek Wieland

    After finishing his bachelor’s and master’s in piano at Juilliard under György Sándor, performing on some of the world’s grand stages and with the greatest of orchestras – including Alice Tully Hall and the Cleveland Orchestra – Derek Wieland traded in his tux and tails for pyrotechnics, smog, and lasers. Since 2006, he has served as Music Director of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra – composing, arranging, and performing a wide range of the group’s repertoire in a tour that includes some 105 concerts in 61 cities each November and December.
